Andrew Edgar M.Ac, M.B.Ac C, qualified as an acupuncturist aged 21 from the College Of Traditional Acupuncture in 1980.After having worked in his own clinic for 5 yrs in Derbyshire Andrew moved to teach and practice at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa from 1985 where he went on to gain both his Batchelor and Master of Acupuncture qualifications. Andrew has also lectured in North America at colleges in Florida and Colorado. Andrew has also studied psychotherapy at Spectrum in London, and has a particular interest in helping people with emotional and psychological distress. The style of acupuncture he learned is called 5 element acupuncture and sees the person as an seamless unification of body, mind and spirit. These three aspects of the individual are similar to an ecosystem that depends upon the maintenance of balance and harmony to remain healthy and self sustaining. The body, mind and spirit also depend upon the balance and harmony of the vital energy known as "Chi" to both regain and maintain health. Therefore this style of acupuncture is ideally suited to help people with a very broad spectrum of illnesses and symptoms. Andrew moved to Linton in 1995 which is his wife's home village. They have two girls aged 10 and 11 years who attend the local schools. Andrew is delighted to join this new clinic in Linton where he is hoping to contribute to the delivery of a high quality alternative practice for the local community. Hopefully allowing people access to the same care they could expect to find within a city but with all the advantages of living in a rural area. |
